I've never taken any courses, but I read the book back when I first became a stepparent. I loved the ideas so much that I continue to use them as a parent, too.
I would highly recommend the L&L approach to others. It is especially effective when used in conjunction with attachment parenting in the child's early years.

I signed up to take this course at my kids' school, but my son got sick the night they started, so I didn't take them… But I wanted to because my son has autism, and is non-verbal, and I wanted some parenting tips that would help me with teaching him. I hope to have another chance to take these.

I haven't, but read the books for both parents and teachers. Great information which is logical (sorry!) Give kids choices, makes them more responsible for their actions and sets them up for independance later in life..

The books are fair, but the CDs are first-class. Invest in the CD set and follow them exactly. You'll be amazed.
