THANK YOU ALL FOR TAKING THE TIME TO ANSWER THIS.

I want to help children and to do this…I must start with THE PARENTS!!

I've never taken any courses, but I read the book back when I first became a stepparent. I loved the ideas so much that I continue to use them as a parent, too.

I would highly recommend the L&L approach to others. It is especially effective when used in conjunction with attachment parenting in the child's early years.

Patti Villalobos, LCP, Pathways and Love & Logic Facilitator, created the Webinar series Empowered Parenting using Pathways and Love & Logic tools. This 12 week, at your pace, course gives parents insight on how to effectively apply Love & Logic tools.

I am about to start these classes and was wonder if any one else has and what they thought! I have a 15 year old that is out of control and I am hoping these classes we give me more ideas!!

I think its great. We all learn from others and it will help you get through your child. I do wish you luck. I know teens have some kind of pressure friends, school and parents. They always think they now it all. But parenting it helps to learn from others and it helps to understand the situation and fix maybe something we are not handling well. So I’m glad you are will to be there to support other parents as well. Good luck don’t give up..

She spilled tomato sauce on her clothes and shoes at lunch and was sent to the clinic. She refused to wear the extra clothes they had at school and the nurse wouldn't send her back to class because she had sauce everywhere, so I had to drive home to get her clothes and bring them to school. I have a 30-40 minute commute, and this meant I had to find someone to cover my class (I'm a teacher) and leave school 2 hours early to do this for my daughter because she refused to wear the extra clothes the school had available. I am trying to figure out what kind of conseuqence would be appropriate for her to make up for my lost time at work, the upset to my day, etc. Does anyone have any ideas for me?

I think it is the school that you should be disciplining! If they offer her a clean set of clothes and she refuses to wear them, they should have sent her to detention or something. It's just like not listening to the teacher. When you misbehave, the school always has consequences.
